Couple’s Guide
Choosing music for your special day can prove difficult and we understand that you will want it to be personal, unique and represent in some way you as a couple. It can set the tone of your wedding and enhance your day, creating special memories. If you cannot find what you want on our play list or are struggling to decide, we are happy to offer advice and guidance. For a civil or religious wedding ceremony you will traditionally need to choose 3 pieces of music for the processional, the signing of the register and the recessional. Can I choose a
piece of music that is not on
the play list? We understand the importance of using the music of your choice to transform your day into a personal and memorably intimate event. Therefore, if a client requests a piece of music that is not on our play list, we will try to find an arrangement of your choice for string quartet. If no such arrangement is commercially available, for an additional fee, an arranger can usually be employed to provide one. What does the
Quartet
need at the venue? On your wedding day, we appreciate that there will be a lot to do, oversee and be involved in and so we advise you to organise with the venue beforehand the performance space and facilities we will need. We therefore advise that the essentials are as follows: 4 dining-type chairs with no arms Adequate lighting to see our music Enough space to sit and play without encroaching on your guests (2m x 3m)
We are happy to play outside in good weather and understand the special ambiance this can lend to your day. We do require shade (either natural or from a gazebo or canopy) as our instruments need to be protected from sunlight. Also, we do need a firm, dry floor to perform on, otherwise our music stands and the cello spike will start to sink!
